training question

How do you deal with EMTs and other professionals when conducting training classes? A friend of mine is a full-time EMT/FireFighter, and one day the subject of CPR training came up. He told me they're still doing the 15:1 ratio when it comes to delivering compressions, and when I tried to explain the current standard (30:2) it almost started an argument. So, here's my question: How do you deal with the "Pros" when conducting training? What have you found that works the best? -Kevin

The best way to deal with this issue is by explaining the science behind the methods that are currently taught. It helps to have a handout that explains the benefits. This seems to work the majority of the time.
